The non-profit organisation Saaremaa Sõjavara Selts (Military Equipment Museum of Saaremaa) was created in 2007. It’s main output is collecting, studying, preserving and expositioning the heritage of war history. The main collection of the organisation is built up from the founding members’ private collections. (About 12 000 exhibits).
The main goal of the non-profit organisation is creating, evolving and maintaining a museum/visiting center. Also creating unique expositions and arranging themed hikes and camps to introduce the war history of the 20th century in Saaremaa.
The Saaremaa Sõjavara Selts invites all collectors and war history enthusiasts to join, collectors also have the chance to show their collections to the public.
In the future the museum offers restoration classes and training.
